Best things in life: the most retarded things

Go try sitting on a bicycle without cycling. Ask someone to push you, hahaha. See how much attention you can garner. It may be AA (attract attention), but guarantee loads of fun. Well, that is, if you can find someone as retarded or, nicely put (heh), as crazy as you. :)

Question: To start working or continue slacking? Gahhhh.

Oh well. It's nearing the end of the year again, haha. Weird how time flies. Or how it feels anyway. Being a J1 had been quite fun, well, sometimes. But now, most of us are moving on to something else. How would I survive? Will I enjoy it? And... I don't know how many times I've thought about it, but still nothing to comes to a conclusion: What am I going to choose when I want to enter an university?

Previously, parents make all the decisions for you. Sometimes you feel rebellious, you wanna reject the idea.
Now, you have to make your OWN decision. And somehow, you feel reluctant to do so... Well, at least I do, sometimes.

Irony. I want to grow up, but I also don't feel like doing so.

But the best thing, I can give to you

I was "spring-cleaning" today with weirong & I cleared up super loads of stuff wheeee. And apparently my furniture switched positions here and there. Haha. There's still some shifting to come, but for now, I can't do the shifting cos of the irritating shelves stuck on the wall! Until my mummy gives me the green light, until my new bed is here, and until my new bookshelf arrives. But till then, I shall continue to improve the neatness (LOL).

And while clearing up all the mess guess what I found (I wonder if I wrote this poem in this blog before, I think I have, haha, but whatever)... I found a poem!

Listen
I am here to tell you
I am all you'll ever need
I'm the doctor who will heal you
I'm the plaster when you bleed
I'm the net for your mosquitoes
I'm the rabbit in your hutch
I'm the pack of new Doritos
when the hunger gets too much
I'm the poetry you're reading
the umbrella when it rains
I'm the oxygen you're needing
For the blood inside your veins
I'm the colours in your palette
I'm the sunshine in your day
I'm the heavy wooden mallet
that will smah your fears away
So when you're feeling like you're falling
and you're lost without a trace
That's the time I'll come calling
any time, and any place

I'm the net for your mosquitoes
I'm the pack of New Doritos
I'm the poetry you're reading
I'm the only one you're needing
If you ask me, I'll die for you
I'll walk into the sky for you

You're the love that no one gave me

- the starlight conspiracy, Steve Voake

See how much springcleaning can make you realise how many things you have that are useless or really just for decoration (and that's irritating 'cos it takes up a lot of space). In some instances, you just don't know if you should throw it away because a) someone give it to you, b) welllllll, it still looks quite pretty... or c) maybe I still can use it sometime later? Then you start contemplating and you never get things done. Haha! But somehow with WR's help things got cleared :) Although it wasnt even a full black plastic bag haha. Well, there were 3 other smaller ones to the salvation and my aunt's. Haha.

& the packing is going to continue later. Haha, my shelf is still in a complete mess (because according to WR, "you're going to shift this to the new shelf anyway right?!" So we didn't focus on it hahaha) but I can't stand it so I'm gonna gonna gonna clear it up! & file my stuff up. Grrr.

Lol, damn cute. Reminds me that I haven't been talking to Yongda for monthsssss. *goes to Facebook to post on his wall*

& to fattykuku, take care alright! Although it wasn't all great, but I guess it's better this way for her? At least she doesn't have to suffer with all that pain. And she's really strong, if you ask me. And I'm sure she's really glad she had such a wonderful family :) Take care okay! We'll go out someday... after that yeah? :) Oh, you're very strong too! Good job on your OP!!! I'm sure everything is fine :) & sorry I couldn't go out today!

Sometimes life is so wondrous, but sometimes...
I'm sure life has plans for everyone

And I wish we had more

Edit: Thanks Weirong for helping me, it was really great! :) maybe it'll be your house next? Hahah!

Funny, as I look at my past blogposts, I realise before I posted "PROJECT WORK IS OVER" or "EOY are OVER!" or etc. etc. I would always have the "I DREAD _______." Lol. I don't know. But when it's over, it's a relief.

The Maya Civilization

By G. Jeffrey MacDonald, Special to USA TODAY

With humanity coming up fast on 2012, publishers are helping readers gear up and count down to this mysterious — some even call it apocalyptic — date that ancient Mayan societies were anticipating thousands of years ago.

Since November, at least three new books on 2012 have arrived in mainstream bookstores. A fourth is due this fall. Each arrives in the wake of the 2006 success of 2012: The Return of Quetzalcoatl, which has been selling thousands of copies a month since its release in May and counts more than 40,000 in print. The books also build on popular interest in the Maya, fueled in part by Mel Gibson's December 2006 film about Mayan civilization, Apocalpyto.

Authors disagree about what humankind should expect on Dec. 21, 2012, when the Maya's "Long Count" calendar marks the end of a 5,126-year era.

Journalist Lawrence Joseph forecasts widespread catastrophe in Apocalypse 2012: A Scientific Investigation Into Civilization's End. Spiritual healer Andrew Smith predicts a restoration of a "true balance between Divine Feminine and Masculine" in The Revolution of 2012: Vol. 1, The Preparation. In 2012, Daniel Pinchbeck anticipates a "change in the nature of consciousness," assisted by indigenous insights and psychedelic drug use.

The buildup to 2012 echoes excitement and fear expressed on the eve of the new millennium, popularly known as Y2K, though on a smaller scale, says Lynn Garrett, senior religion editor at Publishers Weekly. She says publishers seem to be courting readers who believe humanity is creating its own ecological disasters and desperately needs ancient indigenous wisdom.

"The convergence I see here is the apocalyptic expectations, if you will, along with the fact that the environment is in the front of many people's minds these days," Garrett says. "Part of the appeal of these earth religions is that notion that we need to reconnect with the Earth in order to save ourselves."

But scholars are bristling at attempts to link the ancient Maya with trends in contemporary spirituality. Maya civilization, known for advanced writing, mathematics and astronomy, flourished for centuries in Mesoamerica, especially between A.D. 300 and 900. Its Long Count calendar, which was discontinued under Spanish colonization, tracks more than 5,000 years, then resets at year zero.

"For the ancient Maya, it was a huge celebration to make it to the end of a whole cycle," says Sandra Noble, executive director of the Foundation for the Advancement of Mesoamerican Studies in Crystal River, Fla. To render Dec. 21, 2012, as a doomsday or moment of cosmic shifting, she says, is "a complete fabrication and a chance for a lot of people to cash in."

Part of the 2012 mystique stems from the stars. On the winter solstice in 2012, the sun will be aligned with the center of the Milky Way for the first time in about 26,000 years. This means that "whatever energy typically streams to Earth from the center of the Milky Way will indeed be disrupted on 12/21/12 at 11:11 p.m. Universal Time," Joseph writes.

But scholars doubt the ancient Maya extrapolated great meaning from anticipating the alignment — if they were even aware of what the configuration would be.

Astronomers generally agree that "it would be impossible the Maya themselves would have known that," says Susan Milbrath, a Maya archaeoastronomer and a curator at the Florida Museum of Natural History. What's more, she says, "we have no record or knowledge that they would think the world would come to an end at that point."

University of Florida anthropologist Susan Gillespie says the 2012 phenomenon comes "from media and from other people making use of the Maya past to fulfill agendas that are really their own."

So... What will you be doing on 21st Dec, 2012?
